Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning traces its roots to the 1930s in Nashville, Tennessee and is also known as Nashville powder, and Nashville hot dry rub. It has a burst of upfront heat that dissipates quickly with a hint of sweetness and pungency. It is hand blended from cayenne, sea salt, demerara sugar, yellow mustard, garlic, black pepper and paprika.
Traditionally, this seasoning has been used for fried chicken, but it's also incredible as a rub for grilled chicken.
If you are going to use the Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning as a rub, 1 tablespoon of seasoning per pound of chicken is recommended.
