Smoky Molasses Grilled Plantains
Plantains are also known as “Cooking Bananas”. They are not as sweet and are more starchy as “regular” bananas and make a great side dish for BBQ or any savory and/or spicy dish.

Directions Preheat grill to medium high with indirect heat Carefully cut the ends off the plantains and run your knife down the back of the plantain Peel back the thick skin to expose the flesh Completely peel the plantains and cut into 1/2 inch slices In a bowl, combine plantains and Brew and Feed Smoky Molasses Rub, mix together, coating all plantain pieces with the seasoning Loosely wrap the plantains and butter in foil creating a foil packet. Seal foil edge Place the packet on the grill and cook for 20-25 minutes, turning once during cooking time Check for doneness, plantains should have some caramelization and be fork tender Remove from grill and arrange on a platter, drizzle with honey, maple syrup or agave syrup and serve warm
