The India Pale Ale (IPA) has become the flagship beer for the craft beer industry. This hot wing recipe is a way to embrace this hoppy classic with all your culinary heart.
These tantalizing wings are a spicy and tangy treat for your taste buds. The wings are coated in a blend of Sriracha, Ketchup, IPA beer and spices, creating a unique flavor combination. The wings are cooked to perfection when finished on the grill and best enjoyed when served with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing.
Ingredients
-
2 lb chicken wingettes
-
3½ cups IPA craft beer, divided
- 1 Tbs salt
-
¾ cup ketchup
-
1/2 cup Sriracha sauce
-
1 Tbs cider vinegar
-
2 Tbs soy sauce
- 1 Tbs fresh ground ginger
- 1 Tbs cornstarch
Directions
Combine the chicken wings, 3 cups of IPA, and 1 tablespoon of salt in a plastic container and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Drain the wings and lay them out on a sheet pan. Bake until desired doneness… typically for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
In a small saucepan, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of IPA with the ketchup, Sriracha sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and cornstarch. Bring to a simmer. When the wings are done, toss them with the sauce while hot.
For best results sear the wings on a grill pan or grill to crisp the skin and add a visible char.
